Desulphurisation

Hydrogen sulphide is formed during the anaerobic digestion process of organic material containing sulphur. The presence of sulphur significantly reduces the lifespan of pipework, instrumentation, analytical equipment, CHP, blowers, compressors or even the adsorbent material from biogas upgrading processes.

H2S can be removed from biogas using various chemical, physical and biological processes. Selecting the best method depends on the final use of the gas, its composition, variability and volume, H2S concentration and absolute quantity of H2S to be removed.
