The Boreal Line of Sight (LOS) Open Path Gas Detector

Boreal Laser are the leader in Line Of Sight Open Path Gas Detection. This well-established technology is already used and trusted in diverse industries. Now this LOS technology has been adapted for methane slip applications in the biogas market.

The technology uses a Laser Based Gas Detection principle called Tunable Diode Laser Adsorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) to analyse, monitor, measure and detect gaseous molecules of a specific target gas. The result is highly accurate, stable and singe-gas specific measurement.

A number of measurement head options exist within the range, from single to multiple paths which can be arranged to provide full perimeter monitoring.

Unlike other conventional gas detection systems, the Boreal LOS technology requires no ongoing calibration. Allison Engineering have worked with Boreal for over 30 years, having successfully installed a number of systems within the UK.
